Week 13: Hot Blooded
We picked this week’s Korean Box Office No. 1 film, Hot Blooded. Hot Blooded is a crime and drama genre. The story of this movie is about a gang member living in one town quitting his gang life and trying to make a new start, but another gang and his friend is trying to dominate the village, so he tries to look after the village again.

Hot Blood's director is Cheon Myoung-kwan, actors are Jung Woo, Kim Kap-soo, Choi Moo-sung, Yoon Ji-hye, Jeong Young-ju, Baik Soo-hee, and Lee Hong-nae. Cheon Myoung-kwan has taken in a total of eight films since 1993 and has mainly made low-budget films except this film, Hot Blooded. He has a unique history of becoming a screenwriter to become a film director and then became a successful novelist. With his success as a novelist, he became a real film director with this Hot Blooded movie.

As of March 30, 2022, the cumulative sales of Hot Blooded are 2,445,140,500 won and the cumulative audience of the film are 253,282 at the Korea Movie Net premium data. Last week, the Korean Box Office weekly No. 1 was In Our Prime (2022) and No. 2 was Moonfall (2022). However, given the sudden change in rankings this week, it seems that Korean movie consumers are increasingly looking for movies in theaters. Created by novelist, screenwriter, and film director, this movie is well-made and evaluated by the audience.
