The Gods are truly furious at Shazam!

March 15 was the launch of the movie Shazam! Fury of the Gods. It is an American superhero film based on the DC Comics character Shazam. It is the sequel to Shazam! which was launched in 2019. However, given the success of the marvel universe movies, it seems that the Gods are furious at Shazam! In five days, the movie has only been visited by roughly 63,000 Koreans amounting to roughly $500,000 in sales.

In the sequel, Billy Batson and his fellow foster children, endowed with godly talents, are still figuring out how to balance adolescence with their adult superhero personas. Shazam and his allies are forced into a struggle for their superpowers, their lives, and the fate of the universe when a vengeful trio of ancient gods goes to Earth in search of the magic that was stolen from them long ago. Compared with Shazam! (released in 2019), which in its first week earned almost $4 million, the sequel has seemed to underachieve at the box office. Nevertheless, it is worth noting that the movie was visited by roughly 70% of males. In terms of the viewing age trend, the 30s age group attended in the highest numbers (40%) followed by 20s (36%) and 40s (18%).
