Hansan: Rising Dragon [한산: 용의 출현]: Korea is victorious!
The second war action film in the trilogy about battles led by the South Korean national hero Yi Sun-shin, Hansan: Rising Dragon showcases Admiral Yi's courage in fending off the Japanese invaders attempting to conquer the Hansan Island. The victory is surely to entice you with its use of strategy and technology. Within four days of its release, the film has garnered a cumulative audience of 1,613,009 bringing forth a sales revenue of 16,331,964,611 Won [approx. $12.5 million].

The director of the film, Kim Han-min, has been a source of historical and action films in Korea. Across all genres of films that he has directed till date, the total sales have netted 257,593,527,463 Won [approx. $198 million] with an audience base of 33,594,938 people. In fact, his film Paradise Murdered fetched him the 2007 Best New Director award at the 28th Blue Dragon Film Awards. Similarly in 2014, the first film in the trilogy of Admiral Yi- The Admiral: Roaring Currents helped him secure the Best Director award at the 35th Blue Dragon Film Awards.
The press conference of the film was held at the Lotte Cinema in Gwangjin District, eastern Seoul, on Tuesday. The director said that “I tried to portray the genuine spirit of Yi Sun-sin in the film with sincerity. I would like to define our movie as a nationalistic movie that is more than just a gukppong film.”
